Best practices in Grenada

An 18-month project in Grenada, for the national water and sewerage authority, NAWASA.

The purpose of the EU-financed project was to introduce NAWASA to a culture of excellence, by adopting best business principles and best practices in water utility management.

The project focused on institutional development, capacity building, operational optimization, reducing wastage, strengthening cost recovery and financial management.

DanAqua was a partner in the project, which was run by the Danish consulting engineering company NIRAS. At the outset of the project we acted as team leader, and our Leak Detection Expert was also part of the project’s expert group.

The work in Grenada concerned training in practical and theoretical leak detection for operational use. Included in the job was also drafting of a future Leak Detection and NRW Strategy for NAWASA.
